The Papi Chulo Story
I AM A TRUE SALSA LOVER. I took my first job in a Mexican restaurant in the 1970’s, and on my days off, I would frequent others… ALL the others! But what brought me back to my favorite haunts, was the SALSA. Having worked in the restaurant business all my life I started researching and experimenting on various ways to make salsas. By the 2000’s, making salsa had become more than a hobby— let’s call it an obsession with the beautiful complexity and explosion of fresh flavors that makes our salsa stand apart from all the rest. In my home kitchen, I played with all types of chiles, heirloom tomatoes, citrus combinations, cilantro varieties, roasting, sautéing; you name it, I tried it. I would make salsa for my friends, family, neighbors and business associates, anyone I knew who might enjoy salsa as much as I do. Each time I would tweak the recipe a little or a lot to see if I could improve upon the flavor, the texture, the farm-fresh ingredients and make it even better than before. Over the years I’ve tried hundreds of combinations, but by the summer of 2011, I knew I had hit upon salsa perfection. Latinos, gringos and everyone in between who had tasted my salsa fell in love with it and couldn’t get enough. We are deliciously ORGANIC, HAND-MADE and locally grown from sustainable certified ORGANIC farms and there is no other salsa like Papi Chulo Salsa anywhere. On November 11th, 2011 Papi Chulo Salsa was born.
Papi Chulo Salsa … prepared in “The City by the Bay” –San Francisco. We handcraft our gourmet salsa by roasting our chiles in a special way, and garlic just right to create a very special flavor our other ingredients are also prepared uniquely and remain a tightly held secret. We make our savory salsa in small batches then put our artisan food into Earth friendly containers so that everyone may savor our wholesome, 100% natural and uniquely delicious salsa with every bite made from the best ORGANIC ingredients which are grown locally from certified organic farmers.
